Jim Blinn, executive vice president of Advisen’s Information & Analytics Division, outlined the global cyber market in a presentation to attendees at the Cyber Risk Insights Conference in London on February 25.
Globally, “digital data breach, loss or theft” are involved in most cyber events, according to Advisen data. But in the UK, these types of events make up 60 percent of all events (slide 8 of the presentation).
Improper collection of digital data is the fastest growing type of cyber litigation globally, according to Advisen data. In contrast, litigation frequency related to the improper disposal/distribution, loss or theft of printed records is the lowest among all case types(see slide 14).
