London, UK – November 4, 2016 – Web Connectivity (WCL) received the Leadership Award at the 2016 ACORD Awards for its ‘Outstanding Contribution to Industry’ role in assisting the progress of the global Ruschlikon initiative. As an ACORD member since its inception, WCL has played a leading role in the ongoing development of the Global Reinsurance and Large Commercial (GRLC) standard. 2016 marks the thirteenth consecutive year that WCL has been recognized at these awards.
The ACORD Leadership Award is presented to an individual or organization demonstrating leadership in the areas of Standards development, advocacy, and/or implementation. It recognizes those who have gone above and beyond in guiding the insurance industry towards greater clarity in the sharing of insurance data.
WCL recently completed a pilot project with a large global broker and carrier, resulting in the first US-centric e-Accounting implementation involving US domestic property and casualty insurance business. The project has proven the value of GRLC Tech Account and Settlement messages in support of US insurance accounting.
“We are delighted that ACORD has recognized our leadership in promoting Ruschlikon within the industry,” commented James Willison, Managing Director at WCL. “We are energized by the success we’ve had in implementing e-Accounting in the US market, and look forward to building on this experience with other US insurance companies.”
