Managing general underwriter Victor O. Schinnerer & Company announced two senior professional liability appointments.
Jill Tellez has joined the firm in the newly created position of senior vice president, Professional Liability leader. In this new role, Tellez is responsible for the oversight of all of Schinnerer’s professional liability programs, which include solutions for real estate professionals, architects, engineers, construction consultants, and general contractors.
Tellez joins Schinnerer with an extensive background spanning more than 32 years in the insurance industry. She has held various leadership positions with CNA and Hartford, both involving professional liability lines. She has also held leadership positions at brokerage operations including Aon. She will be based in Schinnerer’s Chevy Chase, Maryland, headquarters and report to John Wallace, chief underwriting officer.
In addition, longtime architects and engineers leader, Kevin Collins, has assumed a new role as senior vice president, Professional Liability. He will be responsible for business development, advancing professional liability underwriting, and the continued development of market-leading products inclusive of all professional liability solutions at Schinnerer.
Collins will continue to be based in Chevy Chase, Maryland and reports to Tellez.
“I am pleased to have someone with Jill’s leadership experience join Schinnerer to fill this new and critical role. Her focus on the management of the business will allow us to continue to build on our foundational professional liability programs and deliver industry-leading solutions to the market,” said Wallace. “Kevin’s new role provides us with additional capacity that is critical to driving our professional liability strategy. With these appointments, Schinnerer will be better positioned to expand our capabilities to help our policyholders and brokers thrive.”
