Lockton Companies said Marie-France Gelot has joined its New York office as senior vice president, Insurance Claims Counsel with the Lockton Financial Services Group. She will work closely with Lockton’s financial institution and commercial clients on complex insurance claims and coverage issues in directors and officers (D&O) liability, professional liability, employment practices liability, crime/fidelity, and fiduciary liability. Lockton is the world’s largest privately held, independent insurance broker.
Gelot brings more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry to Lockton, as she previously served as a senior vice president and claims advocate at Marsh & McLennan’s FINPRO Practice.
Prior to that role, she was an associate attorney at two prominent insurance coverage law firms where she handled complex claims and coverage issues focusing on financial and professional lines insurance.

A licensed property and casualty broker, Gelot received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from McGill University (Quebec, Canada) and a JD from New York Law School. She is also fluent in French and Spanish.
