The American Red Cross is sending several team members to Nepal to provide field assessments, distribute relief supplies and support emergency cash transfers to victims. They have also committed in sending an initial $300,000 to the Nepal Red Cross for disaster relief.
Habitat for Humanity is coordinating with the government of Nepal and the United Nations-led Shelter Cluster to assemble and distribute emergency shelter kits to affected families, which will include tarpaulins and other materials for temporary shelter and protection from the elements.
UNICEF and partners are planning to reach the children in 35 affected districts. They will focus on providing water and sanitation, protection, health, and nutrition.
